The Mitchell-Linden Civic Association
is urging all residence in the community
to actively participate in the 2010 census.
Every ten years the United States conducts a census which counts the number of people living in each state, county, and town. Money from the Federal Government is then distributed to the states, the boroughs, and the towns based on those numbers. In 2000, only 54% of the people in Queens responded to the questionnaire or the census takers, therefore, New York State and Queens lost millions upon millions of dollars that would have provided more services for all of us. The government is not interested in the immigration status of any individual. All the government is interested in are the number of people that live with you. Only you can provide that information.
Please help Queens get our fair share of funds. Participate in the 2010 Census. |
